A Surprisingly Affordable Way to Ride Indoors

I recently discovered something that genuinely surprised me: indoor cycling doesn’t have to be expensive or complicated.

At the moment, an injury is keeping me off the road, so I bought a relatively inexpensive Decathlon exercise bike and connected it to Kinomap.

And it works surprisingly well. I can ride real video routes, the resistance changes automatically with the terrain, and Kinomap synchronises my workouts with Strava.

That was the real discovery for me: a compatible exercise bike and Kinomap are enough to make indoor training genuinely enjoyable.

Of course, here on the Costa Blanca, with around 330 sunny days a year, an indoor trainer is something I would hardly normally need. But while I’m recovering, it’s a great way to keep the legs moving until I can get back on the road.
