La Vuelta 2026 Comes to Costa Blanca: Stage 9 on Our Local Cycling Roads

On Sunday, 30 August, Stage 9 of La Vuelta a España comes to the Costa Blanca. The 187 km mountain stage from Villajoyosa to Alto de Aitana passes through Parcent, Orba and Pego — roads we regularly ride ourselves.

It’s a great reminder of what makes cycling here so special. These are the same roads where you can see some of the world’s best riders racing one day, then ride them yourself the next — through quiet valleys, mountain climbs and small villages, with plenty of cycling cafés along the way.
